Kópavogur, Iceland – The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition and Awards, a premier event in the commercial fishing industry, will take place from September 18-20, 2024, at the Smárinn, Fifan Halls in Kópavogur, just outside Reykjavik. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the 14th edition of the Icelandic Fisheries, Seafood & Aqua Exhibition, commonly known as IceFish, promises to be a significant event for professionals in the sector.
First held in 1984, IceFish has grown into the longest-running international fishing exhibition in Iceland. The event has evolved into a comprehensive showcase of the commercial fishing industry and seafood sector, presenting innovations and developments across the entire spectrum from catching and processing to marketing and distribution.
The 2024 exhibition will feature a broad array of new and innovative products and services. It covers every aspect of the commercial fishing and seafood industry, including aquaculture, which has become an increasingly important focus. This year's exhibition aims to address the growing interest in 100% fish utilization, a goal that aligns with sustainable industry practices.
The International Trade Council (ITC) and the International Centre for Trade Transparency and Monitoring (ICTTM) are supporting the promotion of IceFish 2024, highlighting its global importance.
IceFish is unique in its triennial format, allowing ample time for exhibitors to present the latest technologies and services. This ensures that visitors can expect to see cutting-edge developments in the Icelandic and international markets. The 2022 exhibition, the first international event in Iceland post-COVID, attracted nearly 10,000 visitors from Iceland and 40 other countries, demonstrating the event's strong global appeal.
In addition to the main exhibition, IceFish 2024 will feature several concurrent events, including the 5th edition of the Fishwaste for Profit Conference and the 9th Icelandic Fisheries Awards, which recognize excellence in the fishing, aquaculture, and seafood sectors. Matchmaking meetings and receptions hosted by several embassies are also scheduled, fostering networking and collaboration opportunities.
