Looking for Local Chairpersons

The ITC is currently on the lookout for local volunteer Chairpersons and organizers in various cities / regions worldwide.

Our local Chairpersons form a key link for our members in each area and the central team at the ITC head office, as well as with our extended network of governments worldwide. Being a volunteer Chairperson is about playing a key part in the local business community and being able to represent local views on what members want at an international level. Our Chairpersons get involved with a wide range of meetings and events, as well as receiving up-to-date information and briefings on new services and campaigns the ITC is running.

Below are some of the main elements that our local Chairpersons are involved with:

They are seen and recognised as the lead ITC member in their region and as a champion for local business, helping develop and grow the business community both locally, nationally and internationally.

1. They coordinate and chair local member meetings.
2. They act as a local liaison with the Embassies and Government Trade and Investment Agencies that we work with (where applicable).
3. They help recruit local members.
4. They attend, and, by representing members' views, take an active role at the quarterly ITC Virtual Assembly and associated meetings.
5. They attend, where necessary, any relevant local meetings that will help with the delivery of the role and further the development of their local business community.
6. They speak to local media and other associated organizations in a manner designed to raise the profile of their role and/or the ITC.
7. They identify potential vice-presidents, other supporters and new members of the ITC.
8. They identify and put forward ideas for events and campaigns.
9. They act as a sounding board for local members.
   

Local Chairpersons shall serve a two-year term and no more than two terms – i.e. four-years maximum. Vice-Chairpersons shall also be nominated where applicable.

Remuneration:

Honorary Chairpersons roles are voluntary, however they will receive 60% of new membership revenues generated from their own direct signup activities within the region (on normal membership plans); which may be utilized as they choose.
